We are knows that Batam have many source that can progress our tourism section. Such as traditional dances that can be shown for foreign and domestic tourist. In Batam there are many Melayu dances that we can show for make our tourism section better. Melayu ethnic also has traditional clothes. We are rich in tradition and culture, but it will be valueless if people in Batam don’t respect and don’t remain it.
When there is a will, there is a way. We can do many things to develop our tourism section. For example you can make a souvenir for be sold to the tourist or you can learn our traditional dance to show it in some of tourism resort.
Now, Indonesian tourism is very pitiful. Indonesian tourism section on 1980 is very well. Many tourists from another country are very interest to get some refreshment in Indonesia. But, what happen now? They got stress after go to Indonesia. Why that’s happen? We must recognize that our country doesn’t have good safety than before. Firstly, we must make Batam safe and comfort to attract the tourist and never make a dissatisfaction of their travel. If Batam doesn’t comfort, the tourist never want to come again. We must do something for make tourism in Batam is the best.
Secondly, we must repair our tourism facility. Without a good facility and cheap price, tourism in Batam can’t attract many tourists. They will disappoint. There are so many things that need to repair. For example are: many holes in the roads way and public facility that have damaged. Then, our government must develop Information Technology (IT) facility so that will bring Batam to be a good city of tourism and information.
The third is increasing our service quality on tourism. For example, the public driver like taxi or minibuses must have a good delivery. The receptionist in public places must have a good service.
The fourth is make a good promotion of Batam tourism, in our country and in others country. About this, everyone in Batam can make their own promotion. Such as the student, they can give a good promotion in the cyber world. Then they can make new kinds of promotion based on their creativity. You can promote it in your blog too. We must contribute to make visit Batam 2010 succeed.
The fifth is to make a good co-operation of government and the society for succeeding Batam tourism.
Batam city grow and the transportation has developed. We have cheap and reliable transportation like taxi, minibuses, city bus, etc. We also have an airport that is Hang Nadim airport. People in Batam can go almost everywhere quickly.
Another section that has a great power to make Batam tourism success is the mass media. The mass media can have a great influence on the life of people. The newspaper, radio, cyber world, and television are so common today that can reach a large number of audiences in a large size of space. Mass media has big influences to make Batam tourism succeed.
